Cerebral Palsy Conference, 2009

Sydney, Australia is the chosen venue for the 3rd International Cerebral Palsy conference, 18-21 February 2009. The organising committee states :
The aim of this conference is to facilitate collaboration between internationally renowned researchers across all disciplines to help find the answers to cerebral palsy. The conference will have a theme of 'Across the Life-span'

More details can be found at http://www.cp2009.com.au/ including a provisional programme which includes presentations by such familiar names as Peter Rosenbaum, Robert Palisano, Dinah Reddihough and Johanna Darrah. No conductors as far as I could see.

Early bird registration is required before 18 December 2008.

Well, I hope they all have a nice time. If they find the "answer to cerebral palsy", I expect they'll let us know.

I don't expect there'll be much to illuminate everyday classroom questions such as what you teach and when and how nor what training a teacher or conductor needs to be allowed to do so. And if there's not much in it for teachers and conductors, I guess there'll be even less for parents. So I'll not be going.

Is that too sour a view?

OK I'll be a bit sweeter. When is the educational world going to wake up and ask questions about education and learning and upbringing that are as intently serious as these medicos are planning to do in Oz?
