Conductive Education World Hungary - Flattery, cheek - or something else ?

This morning seemed just like any other before I switched my computer on and linked to Conductive World to catch up with Andrew's postings. What I found there has left me a little nonplussed and needless to say very surprised, as well as a little angry, disheartened, disappointed  -  and also curious.

The blog mentioned  Conductive Education World Hungary  at

http://www.conductive-education-world.blogspot.co.uk/

contains a lot of material from my blog which has taken considerable time and effort (and knowledge) over the years to compile. Whilst I am more than happy for people to make use of it in whatever way suits them, I would have expected,  or even just hoped, that some acknowledgment would have been made on where the information came from.

Why hasn't it?

Why has it been posted in such a jumbled mess, no organisation at all?

Who has done this?

More to the point why has it been 'pirated' at all? A simple link to my blog would have been much easier and simpler to do.

Strangely enough Andrew and I had a conversation about plagarism only yesterday afternoon and agreed that as individuals  there is little one can do to stop it, with acceptance and resignation  all that is open to us. Copyright laws are too complicated and trying to implement them is a very expensive business. Universities, colleges and schools can penalise students for so doing, whenever they are spotted, but I (and anyone else whose work is used in this way) have no such options.

Come on konduktorba, let us know who you are and why you have done this!

In doing this you are only cheating  yourself and as we have seen elsewhere cheats are usually found out in the end.

Yes, 'acceptance and resignation', and a a little mild amusement. I have been ripped off so many times since I came into CE that I am thoroughly inured to it. It has happened only once n other fields in which I have have operated.

I have seen versions or parts of your information turning up unattributed across the Internet over the years, sometimes rip-offs of old contact details giving information that you have already replaced. Giving out-of-date information is hardly justification though!

My own best daft exaple is of a PhD thesis that incorporated an unpublished working document of my own as though it was the author's oven work. I had, however not checked this paper of mine, and it contained a fundamental error. This error went into the dissertation unnoticed... The doctorate was awarded and a career enhanced, I suppose that I could still drop a line to the awarding university, but what would be gained?

Yes, a little mild amusement along the way...

I do not know why this should be. In part shear ignorance or naivity must play a part, with people's just not realising how visible an offence this is in the Internet age. Hen there is another kind of ignorance, with others simply knowing how to behave. Maybe he circumstances of CE have pushed too many to new levels, too fast for them properly to adapt. (I am most certainly NOT referring just to conductors here, or just to Hungarians.)

Presumably this is just an infantile disorder that will pass away if CE survives its often unhealthy infancy.

I don't understand what satisfaction there can possibly be in claimimg someone else's work as your own. I would be feeling too guilty to enjoy it!

Let's hope that those publishing and writing in CE are aware of the implications of plagarising and remember to acknowledge all sources in their work.

She is still in Hungary.

This would have been a comment to Andrew's post originally.
